AFTERCARE
DO:
Leave the bandage on your new tattoo for 2 hours after getting tattooed.
After removing the bandage, wash your new tattoo with mild antibacterial soap and water and pat dry with a CLEAN towel or paper towel.
After rinsing your new tattoo, apply a THIN coat of plain, unscented, white hand-lotion. We suggest using Lubriderm, Curel, Aveeno, or any of the generic versions of these products.
Apply lotion to tattoo 2-3 times daily for 7-10 days . Your tattoo should take approximately 10-14 days to heal.
After your tattoo has healed (AT LEAST 2 weeks) apply sunscreen whenever your tattoo will be exposed to direct sunlight.
Keep your new tattoo clean. Rinse it in the shower, but do not soak it.
DON'T:
Do not use petroleum based ointments on your new tattoo, these can encourage break-outs and hinder healing.
Avoid wearing tight fitting clothing that will rub against and irritate your new tattoo.
Do not expose your new tattoo to direct sunlight
Do not go swimming in pools, hot tubs, or the ocean or otherwise soak or expose your new tattoo to chlorinated or salt water.
Do not scrub your new tattoo.
Do not touch your new tattoo other than when cleaning it. This can spread bacteria.
